VO/OV/NDO definitions (verb-object order ratio): VO if the ratio ≥ 2/3 (≈0.667) · OV if the ratio ≤ 1/3 (≈0.333) · NDO (no dominant order) otherwise.
This view splits the β histograms across the three VO/OV/NDO buckets, making the central contrast of the paper directly visible: VO languages cluster on the MAL side of RMAL, while OV languages cluster on the MAL side of LMAL (see paper §5.1). Bars for the three groups are shown side-by-side in each bin to make per-bin comparison easy.
